Enjoy
the beauty and serenity of northeast Connecticut on
a pleasant bike tour. Well-marked routes along mostly
back roads enhance your enjoyment
and allow you to fully appreciate the scenery. This
ride is set up for enjoyment for both families and
century riders alike. All riders must wear helmets
and your bike should be in good operating condition. WHENThe 12th annual Quiet Corner Cycling Classic is scheduled for September 6, 2008, the Saturday after Labor Day, rain or shine! Food, Entertainment and Celebration after the ride for all the participants. WHERE We will start at Camp Quinebaug in Killingly, Connecticut. Choose from 8, 24, 50, 62 or 100-mile routes that run throughout the beautifully rolling northeastern Connecticut countryside. All routes are clearly marked, with well-stocked rest stops for food, beverages and first aid if necessary. PRIZES!!Each rider receives one raffle ticket at registration, and another ticket with each additional $50 that is raised. Raise a minimum of $30 (or $75 for a family of up to 5 people) in pledges and your entry fee is covered. Remember that the more sponsors you get, the more the camp--and the children--will benefit. Not only that, you'll have more chances to win prizes! The special pre-registration raffle that was featured--dinner for two at one of the area restaurants . To be entered in this years raffle, your entry/registration form must be postmarked by August 25, 2008. Send in your entry fee by August 25th to guarantee a free T-shirt (3 T-shirts for a family entry). ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONSign-in begins at 7:00 A.M. at Camp Quinebaug in Killingly, CT. Century riders must be on the road by 8:30 AM and in by 4:30 PM. All pledge money and sponsor sheets must be turned in prior to the start of the ride. It is important that your bike be in good working order before you arrive. REGISTRATIONWe will accept registration forms up to and including the day of the ride, but it's very helpful to us to have them beforehand and it's the only way you will be sure to get a T-shirt and become eligible for the special raffle. Don't bring your sponsor sheet until the day of the ride. We have included both the registration form and the sponsorship form for you to download and print. They are both in PDF form and clicking the publication link will open the document in a separate window in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

WHERE TO STAYThere are several inns, hotels and bed & breakfasts in Northeastern Connecticut. The Northeast Connecticut Visitors District accommodations section has a fairly through listing. We suggest those in Putnam, Pomfret and Killingly (Danielson) which are on the biking routes. DIRECTIONS![]() | Return to Top | If you need more information,
This is a great ride for groups if you belong to a riding team, or work for a company that promotes group sports.
